“Shank” is golf’s 4 letter word
Just for clarity, a shank is when the ball hits the hosel of the club and shoots to the right…hard right and not very far. NO FUN! And they tend to come in batches 🙁
Actually, it is one of those words that a golfer hears, put her hands over her ears and hopes she doesn’t “catch it”, as if it was contagious.
Well unfortunately, the shanks can happen to any of us at any time. So I think it is worth sharing with you an easy drill that can correct this swing issue simply…without having to overthink anything.
Great news, right?
Over all the years that I have given students this drill, the results still amaze me. It truly is MAGICAL because it is simply a visual drill.
Btw, this is equally as magical if you hit the ball off the toe (a shot can also go sharp right).
Keep in mind…I come from the mindset of less is more…so before you start trying to reinvent your golf swing…keep it simple and see if this little drill is just the right drug for your golf illness.
So without further ado…let me introduce you to a super simple awesome drill to use when you…just…can’t…find…the clubface.
