Project Golf in 19 Days

Project Golf in 19 Days empowers you to participate in your first business golf event by not only teaching you how to play the game but how to show up with confidence knowing that you belong.

If relationships and networking are important for your career…then golf is important for your career.

Golf Is A Business Tool

For you golf is not an indulgent game for recreation or retirement, golf is another business skill. A tool that you are going to use to enhance your career through relationships and networking.

Golf should be considered a skill that you invest in just like any other business tool in your arsenal.

10 Times As Much Time

Let’s face it, you would be thrilled to spend 30 minutes with a key player in your business (client, boss or colleague). Business lunches, coffee meetings and cocktail parties have their place but nothing beats the amount of time you can spend with someone on the golf course. An average day at the golf course is about 5 hours before you add time for lunch, drinks or dinner.

Imagine 19 days from today spending over 5 hours with your ideal client at a corporate golf event.

Return on Investment

The time and money you spend on golf returns to you over and over.  It is worth your time and it is worth your investment. The old adage still holds true today, business deals are made on the golf course.

Executives who play golf make an average of 17% more than those who do not participate.

So…Why Aren’t You Playing?

How about these common reasons:

  1. Time – You are just too busy and golf takes too much time.
  2. Difficult – Golf looks too hard for me to learn.
  3. Embarrassment – You don’t want to embarrass yourself in front of your peers, boss or clients.
  4. Intimidation – Golf is intimidating – there is so much to know and learn.

I absolutely understand as I have heard these reasons (and others) for why women delay picking up the game of golf. I have taught golf for over 20 years to women, men and juniors, I have taught professional golfers to total beginners. And I love teaching beginners the most because the challenge is not to teach them the game of golf. That is easy. The challenge is to produce results quickly so that you stay with the game. I call that my golf logistics. I figure out the shortest route to success because I want you to stick with the game.

For business women, I add what you need to know to play in your first business event. In 19 days I want you to jump in and start participating. Quit letting the golfers (mostly men) get all the perks.

My Golf Logistics Plan

…I love logistics and I have a plan to teach you everything you need to get out and join your peers at a golf outing.

1.  Give Me 10 Minutes A Day.

You are busy and I hear you!…you know you should take up the game BUT don’t have the time to travel to a golf course or driving range to practice and learn.

Here is the BEST part!

This program works around your busy schedule as I show you how to practice at home with household products.

Yup…you read that right. There is a bunch of foundational work that you don’t need to practice at a driving range or golf course. Of course eventually, I do want you to go to a practice facility but you can get plenty done until your first visit.

If students rehearse at home, they would greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to be proficient…not to mention the cost of money for repeated private instruction.

Give me 5-10 minutes a day of rehearsing before or after work and you’ll learn golf astronomically faster than waiting for a warm and sunny free day to go outside.

2.  I Need 19 Days To Get You Course Ready, that is not hard!

“Golf is Too Hard” only works If you want to be a pro.

You do NOT need to be good to play golf. I show you hot to be proficient enough for your first business outing.

Great news, right? This is the biggest misconception about learning the game of golf.

Women often feel they need to be very proficient before they put themselves “out there” and participate.

Don’t get me wrong…I would LOVE to turn you into a Tour Player…but that would take a HUGE time commitment and you may need to quit your day job 🙂

It is not about playing professional level golf, it is about building your profession.

This is doable! It is doable if you work 9 to 5 in NYC. It is doable if you never played a sport. Even if you don’t have clubs, I show you how it is doable to get started with common household objects.

In 19 days, you will be ready for your first event.

3.  Intimidation Is Not Knowing

Golf seems intimidating because it is a new environment with a different language and weird rules.

All new golfers have a ton of questions which they often feel are stupid…so then questions go unasked and therefore unanswered.

I answer all the beginner questions you could possibly have to ensure you show up to the golf course looking like a seasoned golfer. You arrive in style and with confidence so you maximize every minute you have to advance your career.

4.   The Key Swing that Prevents Embarrassment

Most golfers fear missing the ball entirely and embarrassing themselves. I show you how to get the ball in the air and EXACTLY what to do if you start stinking (and you will – we all do from time to time). I teach you my repeatable and simple signature motion that will have you hitting the ball in the air and playing free of embarrassment. This motion is your key to success.

How Does this work?

First, I assume you know nothing about Golf.

Even if you played as a kid or watched the Masters once, I make sure there is no misinformation and ensure you are on point when you show up to the golf course. Sure, I teach you the game but there is way more than just how to hit the ball.

This is what is included…
Look the part of a golfer

Discover why to golf for business, how to get over anxiety, how to build relationships on the golf course, and when to close the deal.

Equipment - What you need

This is the heart of the course where you learn, re-learn or refresh on how to make repeatable and powerful swings. Also, learn how to chip, pitch, putt and get out of the sand.

The 5 Shots of Golf

This module explains the 5 different shots in golf and how they all are related.

Putting the Ball

Most people are a little familiar with putting (miniature golf) but there is a bit more to the technique on a golf course besides that there are no windmills.

Grip

Once you can hit the ball, you need to take it to the golf course. Learn some basic rules, etiquette and course management. Also, discover how to play in a company outing or tournament.

Posture

Posture is how you stand over the ball. You want to learn a position that enables you to make an athletic and repeatable motion for you to be able to gain consistency and power.

Getting the Ball in the Air

This is such an important concept to grasp from the start. Bad habits are creating because new golfers do not understand how the ball gets in the air.

Chipping the Ball

Chipping is a low shot that we hit when the ball is close to the green. It is a small swing that is so valuable to learn how to execute it properly.

The "KEY" Swing

This is your go to swing. When you struggle this is the shot and swing you come back to. You have checks so that you know you are practicing it all correctly. I LOVE this swing.

Pitching the Ball

Pitching is a partial swing with a short lofted club. The ball flies high and not very far. We hit it when we are fairly close to the green. It is one of the short game shots.

Full Swing Basics

Learn the basics of the full swing and what to look for to make sure you are on the right track.

Let's Go Play

It’s time to head to the golf course! I walk you through the anatomy of the golf course and playing your first hole.

Etiquette

Good manners go a long way and golf is full of etiquette. Here I teach you what you need to know to get started.

Scoring and Tournaments

Learn the most common golf event formats and how to keep score.

Post Round Functions

The after round is where some of the best relationship building is built. I show you some do’s and don’ts so you can take advantage of this time.

Bonus Cheat Sheets

8 Cheat Sheets to print and take with you to the golf course so you don’t forget anything!

Bonus Visual Aids

6 Pictographs to print as visual aids

Bonus Lessons

4 Bonus advanced lessons for those who want to take their game to a new level.

Super Bonus

Your Career Deserves It

And this is exactly why I am sharing my program with you. I know how to teach you to play golf in the least amount of steps possible. I tackle all the questions you have about the game and showing up for your first event.

BECAUSE…I want you to have the same opportunities as the men (or women who play now) to network, build relationship and sell more product.

90 percent of Fortune 500 CEOs play golf

Golf is a small world once you are in it. Business deals are initiated on the golf course.

“Wow! What an amazing course. I love how each lesson builds on the next. I actually think I might be able to play this game now! Thank you, thank you!”

Do I need golf clubs?

I show you what equipment you REALLY need to get started. The good news is that you can get started without a club and I show you how with some items you likely have in your home. BUT, eventually you will want to buy, rent or borrow a couple of clubs.

Do I need to be athletic to play golf?

If you can walk and chew gum…you can golf :). Remember the goal, in the short term, is to show up to a golf event with confidence that you know what to do with the intent of building golf relationships. It is not to win the tournament (or is it?).

How long does it take before I can play?

This course will take you a few weeks to go through. I release a couple of modules every 3-4 days. There is a ton of valuable information but if you eagerly consume it all at one time, you would likely be overwhelmed. Overwhelm will not produce results. Pace yourself, do your homework and when your schedule allows head to a practice range and hit golf balls.

I don't think I have enough time for this

I understand that you are busy BUT this is why I put this together. I provide you with homework that you can do at home. No need to drive to a range or golf course every time to practice. AND the repetition you do with my exercises will advance you so much quicker than those who take the slow, traditional path of waiting for perfect weather and an open schedule to drive to a golf course to take a private lesson. Which btw, you would need dozens to cover all of this material.

I don't belong to a golf course or have access to a golf course

Not a problem. 90% of golfers play public golf courses. If you live in a large city, there are driving ranges where you can practice. Chelsea Piers in NYC for example. Google “public golf courses” and google “golf driving ranges” or “practice ranges.”  You would be surprised at what is near you.

I am afraid I will embarrass myself

Oh…you are not alone. Every golfer has had that feeling (and likely still has it). The biggest worry for new golfers is totally missing the ball. In golf, it is called a whiff and it is preventable when you understand how the ball gets in the air. I offer you several different key pieces of information to make sure that you hit the ball every time. AND I show you my Signature Motion that is so simple to learn.

Doesn't golf take a long time to learn?

Well, that depends. If you take a lesson once a year for 5 years then I would say yes. But those folks are learning the game for recreation, when schedules allow. This is a business tool you are on a mission to learn. I give you everything you need to get out and play in 19 days. And let’s be honest, you could go out and play today with no idea what you are doing and try to figure it out. But, that can actually set you back if you create bad habits not to mention the people you may offend.

Golf just seems so BORING and DIFFICULT

Ok…I am not asking you to watch golf on TV. I want you to play it – in a business event – for your career. Getting out of the office for 6 hours or more is not boring. Growing your business is not boring. Building relationships is not boring. The events are very fun to play in and remember this is a business tool, not a pastime. Give it a chance.
